ACI offers CEU Online courses to educate practitioners on various subjects.  Several courses are recommended that instructs the student on how to design with FRP rebars. The course is based on ACI 440.1R design guide.  More information can be found at http://courseweb.concrete.org/cw/openlist.asp.

Course Name:

ACI 440.1R-06 Guide for the Design and Construction of Structural Concrete Reinforced with FRP Bars (Part A)

Course ID:

4401_EPartA

Description:

This annotated slide presentation by ACI Subcommittee 440E is based on ACI 440.1R-06, “Guide for the Design and Construction of Structural Concrete Reinforced with FRP Bars.” Part A provides an introduction, FRP mechanical properties and behavior, types of FRP bars, design material properties, and flexural design using FRP bars.

Course Name:

ACI 440.1R-06 Guide for the Design and Construction of Structural Concrete Reinforced with FRP Bars (Part B)

Course ID:

4401_EPartB

Description:

This annotated slide presentation by ACI Subcommittee 440E is based on ACI 440.1R-06, “Guide for the Design and Construction of Structural Concrete Reinforced with FRP Bars.” Part B covers shear design, development, hooks, splices, slabs-on-ground, and various FRP applications.

ISIS Canada

The ISIS Canada Education Committee has developed a series of targeted Educational Modules to be used in engineering education curricula by any interested parties. ISIS’ goal in producing these modules is to enable and encourage the teaching of ISIS technologies in educational curricula where these technologies are not currently covered.  Resources can be found at www.isiscanada.com/publications/educational-modules.

  • Module 3 – An Introduction to FRP Reinforcement for Concrete
  • Module 8 – Durability of Composites for Construction
